I still love the movie of course :o)

For me the ultimate 'the movie is better than the book' example would be 'Jaws' the Steven Spielberg film from '75 is my favourite film but the book was awful! lol

ChrisAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3694427406934260419.post-53251345916818635172010-09-30T15:24:21.415+01:002010-09-30T15:24:21.415+01:00This was my husband's favorite childhood sci f...This was my husband's favorite childhood sci fi movie as well! I will definitely share this with him. And isn't the movie supposed to be loosely based on Shakespeare's The Tempest? Sorry the book disappointed. A lot of great movies come from not so great books (and certainly the reverse is true).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3694427406934260419.post-70949447744019003312010-09-27T07:57:39.053+01:002010-09-27T07:57:39.053+01:00@ Jack: I've read in a few places that the ori...@ Jack: I've read in a few places that the original Forbidden Planet film was used as the template for the following Star Trek programmes. I have to admit there are obvious similarities.
