Wasn't Bartleby an odd one! I can't imagine what Melville would have thought of cubicle offices now. I've never tried Mody Dick. Good for you for making it through 300 pages! It sounds like a rough read.Melissa (Avid Reader)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02119628715475021774noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3694427406934260419.post-28916391723751399652010-10-28T08:57:33.573+01:002010-10-28T08:57:33.573+01:00Amanda - I don't love his writing style at all...Amanda - I don't love his writing style at all so I can understand why you haven't got on with him. At least you can say you tried right?

Brenna - its the kind of story that I could talk about all day I think but it always helps when you are studying it.

Ti - LOL I'm glad you managed it in the end but I don't envy you having to host a read-along. That sounds torture.

Stephanie - I was surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did actually but it was really good.

Chris - its worth checking out the library and its only short. I hated that whale in Moby Dick, I really did LOLJessicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08861424110678889637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3694427406934260419.post-56188658713490096092010-10-27T23:58:00.432+01:002010-10-27T23:58:00.432+01:00This sounds pretty good. It was the roughest read and then all that hype for just a few glimpses of Moby. You didn't finish but he only appears right at the end!Tihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00926060806244061354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3694427406934260419.post-72597404076811457242010-10-27T21:32:15.847+01:002010-10-27T21:32:15.847+01:00I really loved this one. On the other hand, I read Bartleby the Scrivener earlier this year and while I didn't hate it like Billy Budd, I was left with the impression that 95% of it went over my head...perhaps Melville and I simply don't get along. Ah well.Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07026099426503180472noreply@blogger.com
